Sustainability
Together with a dedicated team, I consider sustainability not only as a responsibility to the present but as an investment in the future – one that secures not only the current success of our company but also makes it 'enkelfähig'.
Our path to a future worth living!
As a family business with over 50 years of tradition, we are characterised by long-lasting products, a unique culture of appreciation and a strong connection to the region. Our thoughts and actions have always been characterised by sustainability and responsibility, and we take our responsibility for the environment, people and the region very seriously. For some time now, we have become increasingly aware of the concept of working for our grandchildren: we are proud to produce products that the world needs. Nevertheless, we realise that companies in the manufacturing sector have a great responsibility when it comes to the protection and continued existence of our planet. We therefore endeavour to use all our resources to halt climate change in order to make our planet liveable for future generations.
Our Progress with EcoVadis
At ddm hopt+schuler, we place great importance on responsible actions and sustainable development. To make our progress measurable and communicate it transparently, we chose to be evaluated by EcoVadis, the world’s leading provider of sustainability ratings. This independent system enables us to analyze and continuously improve our performance in four key areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
By implementing new measures and optimizing existing processes, we have significantly improved our overall rating compared to 2023. Thanks to this progress, we now rank among the top 35 percent of companies in our industry evaluated by EcoVadis and have been awarded the Bronze Medal.
This recognition not only affirms our commitment but also motivates us to continue working systematically to expand our contribution to a more sustainable economy. Together, we aim to consistently advance our initiatives, creating long-term positive impacts for both the environment and society.
With the 2030 Agenda, the member states of the United Nations have developed a roadmap for "transforming the world for the better" in terms of a sustainable transformation of society, the economy and the environment by 2030.
The 2030 Agenda includes 17 global goals, divided into 169 sub-goals. These goals are universal, indivisible and interdependent. They may seem utopian at first glance, but when you look at the 169 sub-goals, they become concrete and paint a picture of a future worth fighting for.
However, the goals can only be achieved if as many players as possible get involved and committed locally. To this end, ddm hopt+schuler has decided to dedicate itself to the following SDGs with its sub-goals and to promote the achievement of the goals through strategic and operational objectives.
